The knight of Vincennes, the town right outside of Paris where I stayed with Wendy and Arno. If you don't know this already: I take a lot of very bad pictures when I travel. But have patience and you will be rewarded... somehow. So, what I did in Paris was a lot of walking and taking pictures of relatively random things. This is called Sq. S. Bernhard, and the reference to the actress was what enticed me to visit it. Little did I expect to find a little park for some reason decorated with LARGER-THAN-LIFE pencils. Reference to the actress? None whatsoever. Oh shucks. Every little park I saw in Paris had one of these attached to it: the work of bureaucratic art (i.e. finely decorated rules of decorum). Just a random Paris hospital. Of note is the inscription How medieaval! Liberté -- Égalité -- Fraternité in action: beach volleyball in front of Hôtel de Ville, the town hall. My feet surrounded by Works of Arts in the Palais Royal royal courtyard. More Works of Arts. A cat. Lots of other stuff too, but I was trying to take a picture of the cat. The other stuff just kinda fell in. Stuff. A very cool fountain in the yard of the Centre Georges Pompidou, named so after the 19th President of the French Republic (in office from 1969 to 1974). If you want to see pictures of the Centre itself, look it up in Wikipedia or something. Who knows what (some guy) on Rue de Tolbiac. I was just walking by, minding my croissants. This is now the second day of the trip. A map of the cemetery where Jim Morrison is burried. Want to see the grave? That's right, Wikipedia. I'm still in awe of the cemeteries that hand out maps with graves of famous people marked up on them. Oh, the ever-present Mairie de Paris. Parc de Belleville. Belleville turned out to be a rather run-down neighborhood, but the park is beautiful. It comes with the ping-pong tables built in!! Hooray to the Mairie de Paris? I think so!!
